In its latest study about SVOD demand in Argentina, Parrot Analytics revealed which were the most outstanding series in the country during June. The company contextualized each title within the market by stating the show's performance as a difference from the average demand for a series in the market. A difference of 1x represents the market average and 10x means a series is ten times more in demand than the average TV show in this market.

Argentina's most in-demand digital original series in June 2020 was Disney+'s “The Mandalorian”. Audiences demanded the Star Wars show 20 times more than the average series in this market. Although demand for the sci-fi title is slowly declining month-on-month, it remains impressively high. This is especially noteworthy considering that the show's first season ended in December 2019, and that the series will not be officially available in the country until Disney+ launches in late 2020.

The second most in-demand original was Netflix's “13 Reasons Why,” which was also the series with the largest demand increase compared to May. Argentinian demand for the teen drama tripled from last month after the June 5 release of the fourth season. Prior to release, Netflix confirmed that this season will be “13 Reasons Why's” final one. The second highest increase belonged to sci-fi drama “Dark,” a German Netflix original series. Demand for “Dark” slightly more than doubled from May after the release of that show's third and final season on June 27.

Although the show was cancelled by Netflix in 2019, “Anne with an E” was the eight most demanded original series in Argentina during June. The show's demand was around 2.5 times the show's demand in its home market of Canada. However, Argentina is not the only market in this region where “Anne with an E” is highly demanded: a petition calling for the show's renewal has so far attracted around 750,000 signatures, mainly from Latin America.

Lastly, global streaming platform Apple TV+ had a top ten digital original in Argentina this month: “The Morning Show,” starring Reece Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, was the tenth most in-demand series with 12.1 times the demand of the average series in this market. The drama was a launch title for Apple TV+, premiering on November 1, 2019 when the platform launched globally.
