In its latest study about SVOD demand in Brazil, Parrot Analytics revealed which were the most outstanding series in the country during February using “demand expressions,” the global standard metric created by the company to represent the total demand expressed by the audience of a series within a market.

The demand reflects the desire, engagement, and viewership of television content and is weighted by importance; so a stream/download is a higher expression of demand than a “like” or a comment.

Brazil's most in-demand digital original series for February 2020 was DC Universe's “Titans”. The superhero show had 11.4% more demand than the second highest title, Netflix's “Stranger Things”. The DC Universe SVOD service is not available in Brazil, but both seasons of “Titans” are available on Netflix Brazil.

Netflix's “Anne With An E” was the fifth most in-demand title this month. Brazilian audiences were more enthusiastic about the show than any other market in the world. Per capita, “Anne With An E's” average demand was nearly twice as much as the second highest market, the United States.

During January, the most in-demand title in Brazil was Netflix's “The Witcher”. The high demand in January was partly because all episodes of the fantasy drama were released near the end of the previous month, on the 20th December 2019. In February, and with no new episodes, the series dropped down to third by Brazilian audience demand. Overall, the show averaged around 40% less demand than it did in January.

However, another Netflix title showed especially high growth in Brazilian demand this month: “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” gained 32.7% more average demand compared to January. This demand increase comes after Season 2 Part 1 of the teen horror series was released on January 24th.
