Kirk Docker’s new series “I Was Actually There” and “Maggie Beer’s Big Mission” from Artemis Media have both been nominated in the highly competitive Factual Entertainment category.
The show is a Movistar Plus+ original series in collaboration with Caballo Films and in association with ARTE France. The series will be distributed internationally by Movistar Plus+ International. The first part (five episodes out of ten) will be screened at the Tokyo International Film Festival, which runs from October 28 to November 6 .
Each 26-minute episode will take the viewers on a cultural journey across ten unique destinations around the globe, exploring local markets that are the heart of each community.
A BB Media report showed that, during the first quarter of 2024, 71% of online media consumers in Saudi Arabia reported watching locally produced content in the last three months.
The series is a Les Films du Poisson, Komplizen Serien, Topkapi, ARTE and Quiddity production for ARTE, SWR and NPO, and filming is expected to conclude mid December 2024.
