The Roku Channel will be premiering 23 new original shows on August 13, all of them from the former short-form streaming platform Quibi’s library.

Kate Hoenigsberg has returned to NBCUniversal, which has hired her as SVP of Drama Development for Universal Television. She will be responsible for developing series for broadcast, cable and streaming platforms.

Deriving from its partnership with Quibi, the streaming outlet will add 75 originals, including a dozen series that have yet to be released will join the 25,000 free title catalog. Additional information related to the launches will be announced next month.

The search was made evident on a Tuesday posting through which the company sought out a leading production attorney to work alongside creatives to produce service agreements. The move follows a series of deals reach by the streamer with Quibi, HBO Max, and Peacock, among others.

The streaming outlet obtained more than 75 shows in total, summing up most of Quibi's multi-million original programming portfolio. It will offer the content free of charge.
