Starz’s streaming service is partnering with French broadcaster TF1 on the upcoming anthology series “A French Case,” the first instalment of which will focus on the tragic murder of four-year-old Grégory Villemin in 1984.
The title approval was determined just in time for the season’s debut later this month on the network and across all platforms in the U.S. and Canada, as well as on Starzplay in Europe, Latin America and Japan.
Starz, owner of the OTT service StarzPlay, filed trademark infringement lawsuits against Disney in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. The company argues that the similarity in the names will generate confusion among consumers.
