CBC to celebrate the Canada Day with special programming on all its platforms

The full 2022 schedule includes the lineup on CBC TV, CBC News Network, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music and CBC Listen.

After two years of virtual celebrations and reflection, CBC will be celebrating the Canada Day on July 1 with a full and special lineup across all platforms, showcasing voices, music and perspectives from communities from coast-to-coast-to-coast. The full 2022 schedule includes programs on CBC TV, CBC News Network, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music and CBC Listen.

CBC News Special: Hosted by Vassy Kapelos with reporting from senior parliamentary reporters Hannah Thibedeau and Travis Dhanraj, this CBC News special is a chance to reconnect after a two year hiatus from in-person Canada Day celebrations. Airing live from LeBreton Flats in Ottawa, Canada Day 2022 will recognize Canada’s remarkable diversity and showcase its talented artists, featuring speeches from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Governor General Mary Simon and a moment of Indigenous reflection.

Canada Day Evening Special: Isabelle Racicot and Ali Hassan host the evening special live from LeBreton Flats in Ottawa with appearances by Ariane Moffatt, Charlotte Cardin, Cindy Bédard, Gurdeep Pandher, Johnny Reid, Neon Dreams Riit, Salebarbes, Samian, Sarahmée, Sebastian Gaskin, Tenille Arts, Walk Off The Earth and William Prince.

A Canada For Everyone: Hosted by Jeff Douglas, Marc Winkler, Stephen Quinn from Halifax, Yellowknife and Vancouver, this program will explore all that Canada could be, with topics ranging from anti-systemic racism efforts, to the importance of using Indigenous place names.

The Best of CBC Music's Toyota Searchlight 2022: Toyota Searchlight is CBC Music's annual hunt for Canada's top music talent.
The Great Canadian Goose Show: This special explores stories that reflect the country’s relationships with these antagonistic, but emblematic birds.

CBC Music’s Drive: Host Rich Terfry will be remixing and re-imagining iconic Canadian songs in celebration of Canada Day.

The Same Boat: Many people living in Canada have family in other countries who they depend on and who depend on them, this special explores Canada’s connections to the rest of the world.
