Pickbox launches second channel focused on light entertainment

Pickbox 2 debuts with a programming slate of reality, telenovelas, and lifestyle shows, offering a complementary alternative to Pickbox 1.

Pickbox is set to broaden its television offering with the launch of a new pay-TV channel, "Pickbox 2," officially available to viewers starting December 1. The launch complements the company’s existing channel, "Pickbox TV," which will be rebranded as "Pickbox 1." This strategic move marks an expansion of the Pickbox brand and aligns with the company’s focus on diversifying its programming slate across multiple audience segments.

"Pickbox 2" is curated for audiences seeking emotionally engaging, relaxing content with the channel slogan “Less crime, more feeling.” Programming will focus on lighter fare designed for escapism and comfort, without news or conflict-driven formats. According to Sanja Božić-Ljubičić, CEO and founder of Pickbox, “Pickbox 2 represents an important step in expanding the Pickbox brand, allowing us to bring even more entertainment to viewers across the region.”

The content lineup includes a mix of established international formats such as US and UK reality shows, Latin American telenovelas, home and lifestyle programs, and popular cooking shows. The programming is deliberately positioned to cater to viewers looking for light entertainment as an antidote to heavier genres often dominated by crime and drama.

From a commercial standpoint, "Pickbox 2" is described as a clearly defined and attractive pay-TV proposition for operators, aimed at enhancing viewer value and expanding the Pickbox offering in competitive markets.
