Sony Pictures International Productions (SPIP) has acquired the rights to Arnaud Lemort's French family comedy "Family Therapy" (Jamais Sans Mon Psy) from Newen Connect. Negotiated by Newen Connect’s Alice Damiani, the deal enables SPIP to develop localized adaptations of the film worldwide, excluding China and France. In France, "Family Therapy" will premiere on December 11, distributed by UGC Distribution and TF1 Studio.

Produced by Atelier de Production (Mathieu Verhaeghe and Thomas Verhaeghe) in collaboration with TF1 Studio, UGC, and TF1 Films Productions, "Family Therapy" stars Christian Clavier ("Serial (Bad) Weddings", "Asterix and Obelix"), Baptiste Lecaplain ("The Exes", "Nous York"), Claire Chust (Instant Family, Miss), Cristiana Réali, and Rayane Bensetti ("Let's Dance", "In the Game"). The comedy follows Damien Leroy ("Lecaplain"), an anxious man pushed by his therapist Dr. Beranger ("Clavier") to find love. When he meets Alice ("Chust"), his perfect match, he discovers his therapist is her father—and determined to make his life miserable.

Alice Damiani, SVP, International Film Sales at Newen Connect praised the product:“‘Family Therapy’ is a warm, relationship-driven comedy with universal themes that transcend geographic boundaries. Sony Pictures International Productions’ acquisition of the global remake rights underscores the story’s worldwide appeal and adaptability," commented.

Shebnem Askin, EVP, Creative Production & Head of Sony Pictures International Productions highlighted the potential of the title: “We are always seeking high-concept films for local adaptation, and when Newen Connect, TF1 Studio, and UGC introduced ‘Family Therapy,’ we immediately saw its potential. It’s a heartwarming, universally relatable story, and we’re excited to bring this comedy to audiences worldwide," added.

In addition to the SPIP deal, Newen Connect has secured sales of the finished film in over 30 markets across Europe, the Middle East, North America, and Australasia. These include distributors such as Vendetta Films (Australia & New Zealand), Paradiso (Benelux), Beta Film (Bulgaria), TVA Films (Canada), Donart (Czechia & Slovakia), Estin Film (Estonia), Lighthouse (Germany & Austria), Spentzos (Greece), Vertigo Media (Hungary & Romania), Movies Inspired (Italy), Forum Film (Israel), Grand Entertainment (Middle East), Telewizja Puls (Poland), Nos Lusomundo (Portugal), A Contracorriente Films (Spain), Pathé Films (Switzerland), and Total Film Distribution (Ukraine). A partnership with Skeye will also bring the film to various airlines.
