Independent distributor All3Media International has signed a first pact deal with Sky Brasil. In detail, Brazil’s Sky Play, Sky’s video on-demand platform, has secured five of All3Media International’s primetime dramas.

The first title launching on the platform this month is “Van der Valk,” Company Pictures and All3Media International’s hit detective drama, which was recently commissioned for a second season. The Amsterdam set series was commissioned with ARD Degeto in Germany and co-produced with Masterpiece in the United States, ITV in the UK and NPO in The Netherlands. The series stars Marc Warren as the street smart and unapologetic detective who solves mysterious crimes using astute human observation and inspired detection.

In addition, subscribers will have access to two premium true-crime thrillers from New Picture: “Both Des,” the ratings-winning drama starring David Tennant as serial killer Dennis Nilsen, alongside Jason Watkins and Daniel Mays; and “White House Farm,” based on the murder of three generations of one family at an isolated farm thirty years ago, which features an all-star cast including Freddie Fox, Stephen Graham, Mark Addy, Gemma Whelan, Amanda Burton, Cressida Bonas, and Alfie Allen.

The Forge’s fictional thriller “Roadkill,” written by David Hare, starring Hugh Laurie as a charismatic politician whose public and private life are picked apart by his enemies, will also be available on Sky Play, as well as “Back to Life,” Two Brothers Pictures’ comedy drama written by and starring Daisy Haggard.

Janel Downing, VP, Latin America at All3Media International, commented: “We’re very pleased to start 2021 by signing our first partnership with Sky Brasil on a package that boasts a wealth of our latest scripted hits. The acquisition of ‘Van der Valk’ adds to a string of recent deals for this drama, which is attracting a lot of international interest following its second series commission at the end of last year. These five titles will be the perfect addition to the impressive line-up of premium global content Sky Play will offer to its viewers in Brazil”.

André Ribeiro, Marketing Vice President at Sky Brasil, added: “We are proud to announce this new partnership with All3Media International. It will complement our continuous efforts to provide all customers with the best content available. Those premium titles will be a fantastic addition to our current ten thousand assets available on Sky Play. Investing on a multiplatform and unique experience for our clients will always be our priority and we plan to keep moving forward with innovative initiatives”.
