All3Media International wraps up production for season three of "Van Der Valk"

The detective drama, produced by ARD Degeto, NL Film & TV B.V, was filmed in Amsterdam.

All3Media International, in collaboration with co-production partners ARD Degeto, based in Germany, Masterpiece in the USA, ITV in the UK, and NPO in Holland, have finished producing third series for Company Pictures’ "Van Der Valk."

The third series of the popular detective drama is produced in conjunction with NL Film & TV B.V. Dutch public broadcaster NPO will also contribute to the project, with additional financing by Netherlands Film Production Incentive. NPO will oversee broadcast rights for the Netherlands, whileAll3Media International has already secured a host of sales worldwide for the first two seasons of the six-part series, "Van Der Valk." Since the drama launched in 2019, deals have been signed with Discovery in Italy, France Televisions in France, NRK in Norway, TV2 in Denmark, TV4 in Sweden, HRT in Croatia, Canal Cosmopolitan in Spain, and Okko in CIS. The title was also acquired by NHK in Japan, ViuTVsix in Hong Kong, ABC in Australia, Sky in New Zealand, DirecTV in Latin America, and BBC Global Channels in Africa. 

 The show will also reveal first-look images of the returning and new cast, of which Marc Warren will form part of, taking on the role of Commissaris Piet Van Der Valk, along with Maimie McCoy as Inspector Lucienne Hassell, Darrell D’Silva as team pathologist Hendrik Davie and Emma Fielding as Chief Commissaris Julia Dahlman. Returning cast are joined by new team members Sergeants Citra Li played by Django Chan-Reeves and Eddie Suleman played by Azan Ahmed. Chris Murray continues as lead writer and showrunner, alongside Michele Buck as Executive Producer for Company Pictures.  

The announcement follows the successful launch of series two in the UK it launched on ITV, which reached to 4 million viewers and won its slot on ARD Degeto in Germany returning to an audience of 3.2 million. On NPO in Holland, the series outperformed the slot average by 32%. Additionally, the series US launch on MASTERPIECE has been met with widespread acclaim with The Wall Street Journal praising the series “serpentine plotlines” and calling it “a fine way of spending part of one's Sunday night” whilst Globe and Mail described it as “wonderfully engaging” and “very witty…with a dollop of dark humour.”
