Independent distributor All3Media International has concluded its first deal in Latin America for iconic British soap opera “Hollyoaks” with pay TV channel owner Olympusat. The long running, multi award winning flagship series is produced by Lime Pictures in the United Kingdom for Channel 4.

Recognized as both a progressive and modern series committed to the social issues that affect its audience, the flagship series has embraced a vast spectrum of topical issues, from addiction to teen pregnancy, whilst remaining highly entertaining. The much-accoladed drama has received over 30 awards, including Writer’s Guild Award, Broadcast Award, and most recently a second RTS award for the Best Soap and Continuing Drama.

Additionally, Olympusat will also be home to over 1.900 hours of content from All3Media International’s catalogue in Canada, the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean Basin. A number of All3Media International’s antipodean dramas will be available non-exclusively through this deal on Olympusat’s pay television channels, including “800 Words,” “Playing for Keeps,” “Red Rock,” “Westside,” “Blue Rose,” “Anzac Girls,” “Head High,” and “Mean Mums.”

At the same time, other scripted content acquired in the deal includes family titles such as “A Sunburnt Christmas” and “That Day We Sang”; beloved British comedies “Bucket” and “Pompidou”; the drama “Eric, Ernie and Me”; satirical documentary “Harry and Paul's Story of the Twos”; and compelling thrillers including “Apparitions,” “Chimerica,” “Deadlock,” “The Drowning,” “Innocent S01,” “The Interrogation,” and “Unspeakable.”

“The charismatic characters, vibrant personalities, riveting storytelling and topical plotlines of ‘Hollyoaks’ make it a perfect addition to our channels, that will hold huge appeal to our telenovela fans and beyond. We are thrilled to welcome this iconic soap opera to our catalogue, alongside a raft of quality drama and comedy from All3Medida International,”  commented John Baghdassarian, VP of Content Acquisitions and Strategy at Olympusat.

Yari Torres, VP Latin America at All3Media, added: “As one of our longest-running dramas, we are incredibly proud ‘Hollyoaks’ continues to explore new ground, both in its timely plotlines and international travel, and I am thrilled Olympusat’s audiences will get to experience this vibrant world and magnetic cast, as the series expertly balances tackling challenging societal issues whilst retaining a trademark wit and humour.”
