About Premium Content (APC) has secured a list of broadcast partners for its popular comedy heist drama “The Unusual Suspects.” “‘The Unusual Suspects’ continues to captivate audiences internationally with its empowered and entertaining characters providing a fresh insight into the immigrant experience,” Laurent Boissel and Emmanuelle Guilbart, Joint-CEOs and Co-Founders at APC, said. “We can’t wait to see new audiences engage with the series as we continue to extend the global footprint of this unique and refreshing show.”

NRK in Norway, SVT in Sweden, DR in Denmark, RTL in Belgium, and RTS in Switzerland have acquired TV rights for the series, with Stod 2 in Iceland and HOT Israel taking pay-TV and SVOD rights. Canal+ Poland has also picked up basic TV, pay-TV and SVOD rights, and AMC Networks’ Acorn TV in the UK. “The Unusual Suspects” is an Aquarius Films production commissioned by SBS Australia. Screen Australia made the production investment in association with Screen NSW and About Premium Content, which has also taken on all international distribution. The series is financed with support from Cutting Edge Post.

Broadcasters already on board the series include Bell Media for Canada, streaming service Rialto in New Zealand, OCS in France, Filmin in Spain, AMC Networks International Southern Europe in Spain and Portugal, Streamz, and Proximus in Belgium, and Hulu in the US. The series premiered internationally in competition in the “International Panorama” section at Series Mania in 2021 and has garnered critical acclaim since its launch.

The four-part series starring Miranda Otto, Aina Dumlao, and Michelle Vergara Moore is an English-language female-led comedy heist drama produced by Aquarius Films’ Angie Fielder and Polly Staniford for SBS Australia. When a $16 million necklace is taken from self-made businesswoman Roxanne Waters’ home in an elaborate heist, the ensuing police investigation exposes cracks in Eastern Sydney’s façade.
