APC Studios has secured new sales for the six-part Finnish domestic thriller "A Good Family" (6x45’), about a couple’s loyalty, morality and parenthood. Produced by Vertigo for MTV/C More, the series originally premiered on 8 December 2022, enjoying C More's all-time second best launch and becoming the second most watched C More original series of 2022.

New broadcasters now on board to air the series include CANAL+ Group’s thriller channel POLAR+ for France, TVNZ for New Zealand, RTS for Switzerland and RTBF (Auvio) for Belgium. APC handles worldwide distribution rights for the series.

Based on Petri Karra’s 2019 novel “The Dark Light” (“Musta Valo”), "A Good Family" is created by Minna Virtanen ("Bullets") and Antti Pesonen ("Bullets"), written by Antti Pesonen and directed by Pete Riski ("Bullets"). The series sees homicide detective Anna and her literature professor husband Henrick thrust into a dangerous underworld when their son brings a heinous crime to their doorstep. Parental instincts quickly overcome morality as the couple do everything in their power to protect their family and their future.

Laurent Boissel and Emmanuelle Guilbart, Joint-CEOs and Co-Founders at APC, said: “'A Good Family' is a gripping thriller that brings questions of morality right into the viewers’ homes, challenging the lengths a family would go to protect their child. Following its debut at MIPCOM last year, we’re delighted to have secured a robust group of broadcast partners who will bring this compelling series to new international audiences.”

Marko Karvo, CCO at MTV Finland, said: ”MTV Finland wants to bring universal stories with a Nordic touch to wide audiences. 'A Good Family' is one of our top picks for the market. The script is overwhelming and is based on a strong book IP. How far would you go to protect the closest ones to you?”
