ARTE Distribution closes multiple international deals

The agreements in question were for its Cinema Icons Collection. The collection features cult Hollywood legends, including “Julie Andrews” (52’), whose portrait has enjoyed notable success in the US, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark and the UK, as well as “James Dean” (52’), widely broadcast in Italy, Eastern Europe and Argentina.

ARTE Distribution has closed a new range of deals for its Cinema Icons Collection with international partners. This best-selling line-up brings together premium biographical documentaries on the most iconic figures of cinema, past and present, and continues to deliver strong audience results across global broadcasters.

The collection features cult Hollywood legends, including “Julie Andrews” (52’), whose portrait has enjoyed notable success in the US, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark and the UK, as well as “James Dean” (52’), widely broadcast in Italy, Eastern Europe and Argentina.

Today’s A-list actors also hold a prominent place in the catalogue and consistently attract buyers. The “Kate Winslet” (52’) documentary has been sold across Asia, Eastern Europe, the UK and New Zealand, while the biography of “Brad Pitt” (52’) has recently traveled to Spain, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Asia, Greece, the Middle East and Latin America.
Regularly expanded, the Cinema Icons Collection welcomed several new titles this year, including portraits of “Bruce Lee” (52’), “Nicolas Cage” (52’) and “Tom Hanks” (52’), which are already finding strong traction in Poland, Spain, Greece, Canada, Switzerland and Denmark.

The line-up also includes acclaimed profiles of major directors, with high-performing titles dedicated to “Steven Spielberg” (52’), “Tim Burton” (52’) and “Clint Eastwood” (52’), all of which continue to register solid international sales.

ARTE Distribution’s ever-growing cinema catalogue offers a successful selection of high-quality portrait documentaries. In recent years, the company has notably distributed the high-profile biography “Becoming Marilyn” (52’) in territories such as Japan, the UK and Switzerland, as well as “Nicole Kidman” (52’), “Cary Grant” (52’) and “Jodie Foster” (52’) to leading broadcasters including CANAL+ Poland, Telefónica (Spain) and NHK (Japon).
