Beta Film secured major deals in more than 55 territories across the world, including RTL Germany, RAI Italy, Amazon Netherlands (first window) and RTL Netherlands (second window), as well as VTM Belgium, and YES Israel. NBC Universal snapped up the six-hour drama for Brazil/Latin America and NOW TV for Hong Kong.
The title is available on Channel 4 in the UK and will be on Starz in the US and Canada. It is produced by Eagle Eye in association with Beta Film for Channel 4 and STARZ. Beta Film is the international partner for the series and handles world sales.
The six-hours drama starring Sam Heughan ("Outlander", "Suspect"), Eleanor Tomlinson ("The Outlaws", "Poldark"), Jessica De Gouw ("Pennyworth", "Our Man From Jersey") and Alfred Enoch ("Harry Potter", "How to Get Away With Murder"), explores the stultifying claustrophobia of suburbia and the fallout of chasing your darkest desires.
Loosely adapted from the Dutch series “The Neighbors” by Millstreet Films, "The Couple Next Door" is written by David Allison (Marcella, Bedlam), directed by the awarded Dries Vos ("Suspect", "Professor T"), produced by Jen Burnet, and is executive produced by Jo McGrath, Walter Iuzzolino, and Alison Kee.
