"I, Jack Wright"
Federation Studios inks a major US deal for the high-end series "I, Jack Wright" with the BBC-owned streaming platform BritBox. BritBox just announced it will release the series as a BritBox Original, bringing the propulsive, darkly comic series to American audiences and marking another significant step in Federation's expansion into premium English-language content. The series is executive produced by Polly Williams (Federation Stories), alongside creator Chris Lang and director Tom Vaughan, with Helen Perry serving as executive producer for UKTV.
The series has also secured a deal with Belgian channel RTBF, who pre-bought the series and is co-producing it. SVT (Sweden), RUV (Iceland), NRK (Norway), DR (Denmark), and YLE (Finland) have also all pre-bought the series. As one of 2025’s most anticipated British dramas, the series will be introduced to the international market by Federation Studios during an exclusive event at London Screening 2025. Now in its final stages of post-production, the series is slated for a 2025 release across European and American territories.
In the vein of "Succession" meets "Knives Out", "I, Jack Wright" is a high-end murder and mystery family drama that follows the implosion of a wealthy British family in the wake of their patriarch’s shocking apparent suicide. But is it really suicide? "I, Jack Wright" is created and written by award-winning Chris Lang ("Unforgotten", "The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe") and directed by Tom Vaughan ("The Flight Attendant", "A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder").
The cast features Nikki Amuka-Bird ("Cargo", "MI-5", "Survivors"), John Simm ("Grace", "Crime"), Gemma Jones ("Gentleman Jack", "Finding Alice"), Harry Lloyd ("Arcane", "Game of Thrones"), Trevor Eve ("A Discovery of Witches", "Waking the Dead"), and Daniel Rigby ("The Witchfinder", "Landscapers") in leading roles.
