The Turkish drama "Woman," distributed by Calinos Entertainment and produced by Medyapim / MF Yapim, started broadcasting on Antena 3 channel of Atresmedia TV Group in Spain last month. Being the first Turkish TV series broadcasted in prime time on a Western European National channel, “Woman” reached more than 1 million viewers in Spain and became the leader of the night it aired on.
Because of this great success, Antena 3 decided to increase the show’s broadcasting days to two per week, Mondays and Tuesdays. After this decision, “Woman” has become the most watched series by taking a share of 15.5% and reaching more than 1.5 million viewers. Due to this success, Antena 3 and Calinos Entertainment have already signed a deal for “Woman’s” second and third seasons.
Moreover, “Woman” made a tremendous impact in Sri Lanka and Vietnam, where it has just started airing. The series, which is followed by a huge audience, seems to become a phenomenon everywhere it has been broadcast with its engaging storyline and characters.
"Woman" is the survival story of Bahar, a young widow with two children. Abandoned by her mother when she was eight, Bahar later loses her grandparents too. At a time when she feels all alone, she meets Sarp, with whom she falls madly in love with. After some years of happiness, Bahar loses her husband too and she is left with only two things that make her hold on to life: her children, Nisan and Doruk. Together, she is able to turn life into a game, poverty into fun, and absence into joy.
