Dreamspark and Studio 89 format "The Power" reaches 18 countries

The daily format adaptations include Germany, Hungary, Greece, Mexico, Romania and the second season in France.

Launched at MIPTV 2024 by Studio 89 and Dreamspark, daily format "The Power" is rolling out in 18 countries, including adaptations, Germany, Hungary, Greece, Mexico, Romania and the second season in France. This strategic and captivating format immerses participants in a game where power is the ultimate key to survival. Each week, a secret power player controls the privileges, challenges, and disadvantages of others while keeping their identity hidden to maintain their role. This unique concept, centered on the thrill of power, has sparked exceptional enthusiasm across international markets.

The daily format premiered on French commercial broadcaster W9 on April 1st and was the most successful launch of a new format in its time slot since 2022. Viewership improved on the slot average by 50% increase making this one of the channel's most watched reality shows and was renewed for Season 2 within the second week of broadcast.

Now the format has been commissioned in 5 additional countries for 2025 launch; in Germany by ProSiebenSat.1 and Joyn, Hungary by RTL Hungary, Greece by Skai TV and in Mexico and Romania, channels to be announced, however both versions to be produced by Acun Medya.

NBCUniversal has acquired the rights in the US, UK and Australia for development. The format rights have also been granted in Belgium and the Netherlands to Vincent TV and Spain, Portugal and Italy to Fremantle and the Nordics (Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland) to Banijay Nordics.
