Keshet International (KI) has completed a deal that will see 80 episodes of Tuesday’s Child Television’s compelling music quiz show "The Hit List" produced locally in France and broadcasted on the free-to-air channel Gulli in primetime, from January 8, 2025.

Originally created and produced by Tuesday’s Child for BBC One in the UK – where the seventh season is currently premiering in primetime on Saturday nights - "The Hit List" has the lively atmosphere of a dance party alongside the addictive entertainment of a fast-paced quiz.

Studio 89’s (80x30’) French adaptation of Tuesday’s Child’s hit BBC One format sees co-hosts Élodie Gossuin and Issa Doumbia welcome new duos of players – friends, siblings, couples or colleagues - who try to dethrone the champions of Hit List. To win, they must correctly identify titles and artists of well-known songs from excerpts played in the studio. The winning duo progress to the final, where they have the chance to win a prize pool that increases day-by-day, and to defend their champion title. In another unique French format twist, Gulli’s Hit List welcomes a third host: Elvis, a virtual dancing yeti who gyrates across two giant screens to really get the party started!

Kelly Wright, KI’s MD Distribution, “'The Hit List' is a fun and entertaining musical treat that gets everyone guessing, both in the studio and at home. Already a proven ratings winner in the UK with seven seasons commissioned by BBC One, alongside two local remakes this year in Spain, and the Finnish and Dutch adaptations, this is a proven, quick-turnaround, shiny-floor format that’s easily adaptable to any time slot, version, or budget. We are confident that M6’s Gulli PRIME viewers are going to love it!”

Karen Smith, CEO of Tuesday's Child adds, “Eighty prime-time episodes is a huge order from the French and testament to the enduring success of our robust but flexible format. It’s economical to produce, we’re able to scale it up or down to suit budgets and confident enough to accommodate local requests like the introduction of a dancing yeti… 'The Hit List' is the perfect feel-good family format for right now - it's multi-generational, thoroughly entertaining, and irresistibly play-along. I defy you not to shout the answers at the screen. It should be easy, you’ve ‘heard’ them all before... but can you name the title and the artist when you’re under pressure?’’

PROVEN SUCCESS
"The Hit List" format is distributed by Keshet International on behalf of Tuesday’s Child Television, with KI’s VP of Sales Anne Roder Botbol negotiating the license agreement in France with M6. The last 12 months has also seen two different regional adaptations produced by Topanga Crea and broadcast in Spain on Televisión Canaria and TV Galicia, following KI’s license of "The Hit List" format to the Madrid-based production company. The 26x60’ Canarian version, co-produced with Doble Diez, performed strongly above slot average (+4%), doubling the channel’s primetime performance on Thursdays, as did the 13x60’ Galician adaptation, the first episode of which averaged a 9.2% audience share, +4% above the average on 3 December 2024.

"The Hit List" format has also been adapted locally in Finland, where the Finnish adaptation secured a 30.2% viewing sharing, making MTV the most-watched commercial channel of the night; and in the Netherlands for NPO, where Vincent TV produced the Dutch adaptation.

In the UK, Tuesday’s Child’s original series continues to deliver impressive ratings for BBC One. Now in its seventh consecutive series - and still premiering in primetime on Saturday nights with husband-and-wife double act Marvin and Rochelle Humes as hosts - "The Hit List" S7 is +7% up on the same episodes from Series 6, with 11m viewers reached to date and a series average audience of 2.26M viewers. Six celebrity specials are expected to premiere on BBC One in the New Year.
