Keshet International (KI) has completed a raft of sales for Israel’s highest-rating drama of 2024, the romantic comedy "Save the Date" ("Bekarov Etzli"), which has just been greenlit for a second season in Israel by Keshet 12.

Originally produced by Tedy Productions with Reisdor for Keshet 12, "Save the Date" is an uplifting romantic comedy about Dassy, a successful wedding planner who suddenly finds herself single. When her grandmother’s old love spell backfires, Dassy unexpectedly finds herself juggling four suitors from her past and present. Which man—if any—will lead to her own happily ever after? "Dancing with the Stars Israel" winner Adi Havshush stars as Dassy, alongside an all-star Israeli cast that includes Tomer Capone ("The Boys", "When Heroes Fly").

KI has licensed the format of "Save the Date" to Alpha TV in Greece and Cyprus, where a Greek adaptation is currently in development by the FTA TV channel. Keshet Germany is also developing the romcom format for the German market, following its successful adaptation of the Israeli comedy format "Messiah" ("Massiach"). "Messiah Superstar" is currently premiering on ProSiebenSat.1’s streaming platform Joyn.

Christos Kompos, Alpha TV’s Program Director, praised the title: 'It seems that romcoms are getting rarer and rarer on free-to-air TV—that is why formats such as "Save the Date" may now have a real chance to stand out and make a difference in markets full of dramas and procedurals. "Save the Date" hits all the right notes, and it’s a perfect example of how the genre can become relevant not only for streamers but also for free-to-air audiences. We fell in love with Dassy’s story right from the start. It’s a charming, quirky, funny, relatable comedy with twists, love and laughter for all ages. We believe that it can resonate with audiences all over the world, and we are looking forward to creating our own version of it," expressed..

In addition, KI has sold this charming 6x60’ romcom to Netflix in Israel, where it will debut on the platform from 25 May 2025. The company has also finalized sales for the scripted series in 12 other territories, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan, with additional negotiations underway in several other markets.

Created by Yoav Tsafir, Tmira Yardeni, Tamara Salem, and Tamar Marom, "Save the Date" secured a 17.2% average viewing share across its debut on Keshet 12 last summer, making it Israel’s highest-rating drama of 2024. The highly original romcom has now been recommissioned for a second season by Israel’s most-watched TV channel, as part of Keshet Media Group’s increased investment in scripted IP, Israeli talent, and local storytelling. This slate also includes titles such as the Series Mania-winning "A Body that Works", the high-stakes thriller "Trust No One", and the international crime drama "Unconditional", which was recently previewed to buyers at the 2025 London TV Screenings.

In "Save the Date" Season 2, Adi Havshush will make a welcome return as Dassy Toledano, the wedding planner that all of Israel fell in love with. But after finding true love—is everything perfect? Did Dassy really get her happily ever after? The second six-part season of this feelgood romcom will once again be written by Ori Gross and produced by Tedy Productions for Keshet 12.

Kelly Wright, KI’s MD of Distribution, expressed satisfaction with the international journey of the comedy: '"Save the Date" has had buyers laughing out loud since its MIPCOM launch, and we're so pleased to see it land on Netflix in Israel ahead of Keshet’s production and broadcast of Season 2 in 2026. We’re also happy to announce that the format is primed for a remake in Greece and in Germany by our own Keshet Germany, with more sales in the pipeline," commented.
