"The Sommerdahl Murders"
Dynamic Television confirms the renewal of its acclaimed Danish crime series "The Sommerdahl Murders" for a sixth season. Based on Anna Grue’s bestselling book franchise, the (4x90/ 8x45) Nordic drama is a co-production between Dynamic Television, ZDF, ndF, Sequoia Global Alliance, and Danish broadcaster TV2. Production for Season 6 commenced earlier this summer, and the series is expected to premiere next year.
"The Sommerdahl Murders" is an engaging, blue-sky take on the successful Nordic noir genre. Set in Helsingør, a picturesque town on the Danish coastline, each episode revolves around an intriguing, perfidious murder investigation solved by Dan Sommerdahl (Peter Mygind) and his best friend Detective Superintendent Flemming Torp (André Babikian).
In the sixth season, Dan Sommerdahl navigates new challenges as he prepares to marry his beloved Josefine, following the dismissal of the drug charges against her. With his nemesis Otto out of the picture and the sun shining brightly on Helsingør, Dan's notion of a serene second youth is quickly disrupted by an ex-husband, children that suddenly appear on his doorstep in desperate need of help and a fresh wave of murder mysteries.

WORLDWIDE APPEALING
The series continues to attract new audiences and maintain high ratings. In Denmark, the season 5 premiere achieved the highest viewership numbers of any Sommerdahl TV season premiere to date. Internationally, the show has sold nearly worldwide to more than 100 territories.
"The Sommerdahl Murders" is created by Lolita Bellstar ("Lulu & Leon") who serves as head writer alongside Christine Exner ("Cry Wolf"). The series is produced by Danish production company Sequoia Global Alliance. Executive Producers are Janni Helleskov of Sequoia Global Alliance, Matthias Walther from ndF, and Daniel March and Annika Schmidt of Dynamic Television.
