Eccho Rights recently greenlit the relationship drama, "As Long As We Live," and entered a partnership with C More, Glassriver and broadcaster Stod 2. The series is set to go into production this summer. "We are really happy to partner on this great project. It's one of the very best series we've been presented the last couple of years," Piodor Gustafsson, Nordic Drama Director for C More and TV4 Media, said. "The scripts are outstanding and the creative team has a great vision. Adding Martin Wallström to the mix just made it totally irresistible.”
"As Long as We Live" is created by and will star Aníta Briem, with the series inspired by her own personal story. Katrín Björgvinsdóttir, fresh from directing 3 episodes of the latest season of hit Icelandic series Trapped, directs all 6 episodes. Starring opposite Briem will be Swedish actor Martin Wallström, known to worldwide audiences from four seasons of hit US drama "Robot," as well as four Beck movies. Wallström will also star in the upcoming C More adaptation of Jo Nesbø's Headhunters.
”Stod 2 is extremely proud to be the commissioning broadcaster in Iceland for As Long As We Live and have been on board since being initially pitched the idea in 2021," Thora Clausen – Head of Programming and Acquisitions, Stod 2, said. "We were thrilled to read the engaging script written by the talented Anita Briem and know this type of programming will definitely appeal to our viewers. With the addition of director Katrin Bjorgvinsdottir and onscreen talent Martin Wallström we have no doubts about the success of this project.”
In the past year Eccho Rights has ramped up its work in development and co-productions. "As Long As We Live" will form part of the company's slate for Mipcom 2022.
“'As Long As We Live' embodies everything we look for in an international project," Adam Barth, Director of Co-productions, Acquisitions, and Development, Eccho Rights, said. "At its core, we have a universally relatable relationship drama, beautifully told by Aníta, coupled with an outstanding cast, and of course a production company of great pedigree in Glassriver."
