Endemol Shine International announces that it has sold six premium British dramas to Turner Latin America, following NAPTE Miami 2020. The deals were brokered by Veronique Verges, SVP of Latin America and US Hispanic at Endemol Shine International.
“Deadwater Fell” is headlining the shows heading to Latin America, having just launched on Channel 4 in the UK this month and already sold to North America in a deal with Acorn TV.
Produced by Kudos and filmed in picturesque Scotland, the darkly gripping drama’s stellar ensemble cast features David Tennant (‘Broadchurch’, ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Good Omens’), Cush Jumbo (‘The Good Fight’, ‘The Good Wife’, ‘Vera’’), Matthew McNulty (‘Versailles’, ‘’Cleaning Up, ‘The Terror’) and Anna Madeley (‘’Patrick Melrose, ‘The Crown’, ‘Utopia’). The miniseries is created and written by Daisy Coulam (‘Grantchester’, ‘’Humans’) and directed by Lynsey Miller (‘The Boy with the Topknot’, ‘Eve’).
Other Kudos dramas in the package include Kit Harington mini-series “Gunpowder”, the fast paced thriller set in the 16th century telling the tale of the Gunpowder plot, a third and final series of “Tin Star” starring Tim Roth and sees the Worth family return to the U.K. to confront their history, along with Romola Garai, Ben Whishaw and Dominic West led favourite “The Hour”.
The deal also includes “Guerrilla”, written by Oscar winner John Ridley and starring Freida Pinto and Babou Ceesay and will mark the first airing of the drama in Latin America. The series was originally produced by Fifty Fathoms and co-produced by ABC Signature for Sky Atlantic and Showtime.
Psychological thriller “The Fall”, starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan, which examines the lives of two hunters -- one is a serial killer who preys on victims in and around Belfast, Northern Ireland, and the other is a female detective drafted from the London Metropolitan Police to catch him is also part of the package.
