London-based factual indie Brown Bob has opened a base in Cardiff, known as Brown Bob Cymru. “We are very excited about the opening of Brown Bob Cymru, our latest base, in Cardiff," Brown Bob Founders, Jacqueline Hewer and Nicki Gottlieb said.

Brown Bob Cymru already has 30 hours of confirmed productions and will work with BBC Wales, pubcaster S4C and commissioners from other terrestrial channels on local Welsh stories. It will be concentrating on growing relationships with BBC Wales and S4C and “look forward to working with commissioners from all terrestrial channels to help bring Welsh stories alive.”

Brown Bob was founded in 2013 by Hewer and Gottlieb. The team aims to create a “significant contribution to the Welsh production sector by working with key broadcasters and talent. The creative industry in Wales currently generates £1.7bn (US$2.2bn) turnover – 14% growth over five years, employing more than 35,000 people.

The projects Brown Bob has worked on include "Inside the Ambulance" for UKTV’s W and "The Secrets of the London Underground" for sister channel Yesterday. “Wales is an incredible country and we are very much looking forward to being part of the production community and creating content that reflects and celebrates Welsh pride and passion," Hewer and Gottlieb said.
