"The Simpsons"
In an unprecedented 4×4 deal, Fox has renewed four 20th TV Animation series for four seasons each. The network extended the runs of animated staples "The Simpsons," "Family Guy," and "Bob’s Burgers" for four more years. Additionally, Fox confirmed the return of "American Dad!" after an 11-year hiatus, granting it a four-season order. Strengthening its position as the top network for adult animation, Fox described the long-anticipated agreement with Disney TV Studios as a "meganimation deal."
With this move, Fox is bringing back another familiar favorite. "American Dad!" originally aired on the network for nine seasons before moving to TBS in 2014, where it continued for another decade. The show wrapped up its TBS run in late March, with reports at the time suggesting that a return to Fox was imminent.
Creator Matt Groening executive produces "The Simpsons" alongside James L. Brooks, Sam Simon, and showrunner Matt Selman. Seth MacFarlane created "Family Guy" and serves as an executive producer with showrunners Rich Appel and Alec Sulkin. MacFarlane also co-created "American Dad!" with Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman. "Bob’s Burgers" is executive produced by series creator Loren Bouchard along with showrunners Nora Smith and Holly Schlesinger.
The four 20th TV Animation series will join Fox-produced animated shows "Krapopolis" and "Universal Basic Guys" in the network’s 2025-26 lineup. Fox has yet to announce decisions regarding "The Great North" and "Grimsburg."
