France TV Distribution has created a new division dedicated to formats export, named Global IP. The team will develop a tailored strategy for each title, taking into account the specific territory being targeted. By focusing on marketing and multilingual delivery, Global IP will feature a diverse catalog including fiction, entertainment, series, films, documentaries, and more, with titles such as “Call my Agent!” (“Dix pour cent”), “Chronicles of the Sun” (“Un Si Grand Soleil”) and “Countdown” (“Des Chiffres et Des Lettres”).
Among the deals France TV Distribution is working on, Telecinco is currently working on the Spanish version of “Call My Agent!” in collaboration with Good Mood (Daniel Écija). The series already has 15 adaptations across more than 25 territories. Meanwhile, “Countdown” returned last season to Spanish television on La 2, under the title “Cifras y Letras.” Other formats in France TV Distribution's catalog include “Chronicles of the Sun,” adapted in Greece, and “Bright Minds” ("Astrid et Raphaëlle"), whose British remake recently finished filming.
Catherine Bernard, Deputy General Manager of France TV Distribution, stated that the company "has signed international deals for intellectual properties of all genres and formats worldwide. We have more than a decade of experience in format sales, and now we've created Global IP because selling formats requires a specific strategy for each territory, based on the assets and programming of each IP."
Julia Schulte, SVP of International Sales at France TV Distribution, added: "With the creation of Global IP, we are applying our 360º sales and financing strategy, ensuring that each title receives the best possible distribution, both in France and internationally. We work closely with producers on the export of formats and original productions, creating a virtuous cycle for French companies."
