FRANCE TV DISTRIBUTION SEALS NEW DOCUMENTARY SALES

The French documentary films travel the world - to Germany and the Middle East, and all the way to South Korea. France tv distribution is busy pursuing its role in exporting original French works, promoting their international reach.

The French documentary has progressed to a higher level, with expertise that is widely recognized, characterized by ambition and strong potential. France tv distribution's line-up reflects this status, with an ever-diversifying offer to viewers the world over, bringing them cutting-edge stories and original, high-quality content.

"Wolf Walk", a docufilm directed by Jean-Michel Bertrand and produced by MC4 (1x88') has sold to Germany where it has been picked up by distributor Lighthouse Film. The film was selected for the Vancouver International Film Festival in 2020, as well as for the major and junior prizes at Italy's Gran Paradio Film Festival. 

The Apocalypse collection produced by CC&C is still a big hit. The latest work in this series, "Hitler takes on the west: 1940" (CC&C - 2x52') will be broadcast in Belgium on RTBF, in Sweden on SVT, in Spain on RTVE, in Danemark on DR Media and Worldwide through an upcoming sale.

"Apocalypse, WWII" (CC&C/ECPAD - 6x52') has been sold to Greece's ERT, "Apocalypse, never ending war: 1918-1926" (CC&C/Ideacom International Inc - 2x45') to Slovakia's RTVS. Similarly, "Apocalypse, war of worlds: 1945-1991" (CC&C/ECPAD/INA - 6x52') has been sold to the Flemish-speaking Belgian broadcaster Viewcom/VRT.

As for the documentary series, "The Real War of Thrones" (Pernel Media - Season 1: 4x45' / Season 2: 6x45' / Season 3: 6x45'), Season 3 is being exported to Germany on ZDF, and to Russia, on Kultura.

"The Children of Terezin and the Mustachioed monster" (Artisans du film - 1x52'), "Operation Peter Pan: Exodus of Cuba's Children" (The Prod - 1x52') and "By the Devil's Grace" (Injam Production - 1x52') will be aired in Finland on YLE. The latter documentary is also being embraced by Belgium's RTBF, alongside "The Girl in the Pictures: The Story Behind the Photo" (Skopia Films - 1x52').

"The Black Book" documentary (Les Films du Poisson - 2x45'/1x90') is in the Czech Republic, on CESKA. It's also gracing Greece's ERT, alongside "The Ceausescu trial: a revolution cut short" (Flach Film Production - 1x52').

In Nature, Discovery and Science genres, France tv distribution has sold "Trees: a Global Superpower" (Hauteville Productions - 2x45'/1x90') to Germany, Spain, South Korea, and China, via NTV/RTL Group, RTVE, KBS, and CCTV respectively.

"The Extreme Lands" docuseries (Pernel Media - 6x52') has been sold to Servus TV, in both Germany and Austria, to Nat Geo in Asia, to NHK in Japan and to Slovakia's RTVS.

NHK Enterprises, an affiliate of NHK, has acquired the program, "The Ghost of the Neolithic" documentary (TSVP - 1x90'/1x52'), a study of a major turning point in human history. The documentary is also traveling to Russia via Kultura, in Spain via RTVE, and to the Baltics, Central & Eastern Europe, Russia & CIS, and Scandinavia with Viasat World.

Middle-eastern audiences (or more precisely, Al Jazeera viewers) will be able to enjoy the following documentaries: "Extreme Lands" (Pernel Media - 6x52'), "Trees: a Global Superpower" (Hauteville Productions - 2x45'/1x90') and "The blue zones of longevity" (La Famiglia - 4x52').

Finally, the kids' show "Blossom" (France Télévisions - 50x4’) is taking root on Switzerland's RTS.
