Fremantle brings new "American Idol" season to Samsung TV Plus in the UK

From March 2022, viewers will be able to watch the new season of the hit talent show exclusively on demand, on the free-to-watch platform.

Fremantle has partnered with electronics giant Samsung to bring 20th season of "American Idol" to audiences in the UK. From March 2022, viewers will be able to watch the new season of the hit talent show exclusively on demand, on the free-to-watch platform, Samsung TV Plus.

This marks an exciting new chapter for Fremantle and Samsung TV Plus, having already partnered to bring "Baywatch" and "Project Runway" to UK audiences through their dedicated channels.

From 2nd March 2022, the 20th season of "American Idol" will be available to watch on demand on Samsung TV Plus. Later, the show will be incorporated into Samsung’s Entertainment Channel which will be dedicated to family entertainment. Users will be able to watch American Idol with new episodes coming every week from 10th March right through to the final on 22nd May.

Music industry legends and all-star judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie, along with Emmy-winning producer and host Ryan Seacrest, return to help discover America’s next singing sensation for American Idol’s fifth season on ABC and 20th season overall. The talent show will be available on Samsung TVs, mobile phones and tablets[1] through Samsung TV Plus for free.

"American Idol" is produced by Fremantle and Industrial Media’s 19 Entertainment. Executive producers include Megan Wolflick, also serving as showrunner, and Fremantle’s Jennifer Mullin and Trish Kinane, with Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman serving as executive producers for 19 Entertainment. Fremantle distributes the series worldwide.
