Robin Philip and Kerim Emrah Turna
Globalsphere Studios, the joint venture led by MediaHub’s Kerim Emrah Turna and Geophil’s Robin Philip has begun production on its second original Turkish drama series, "Aşka Mahkum" (English: "Bitter Justice"), in collaboration with India’s Shemaroo Entertainment.
Following the success of its debut title "Alaca" (45’x120), released in 2024, which recently hit key viewership milestones with deals covering Europe, Latin America, and APAC, Globalsphere continues to expand its slate of high-quality Turkish dramas, designed to bridge authentic local storytelling with global commercial appeal.
A co-production between Globalsphere Studios and India’s Shemaroo Entertainment, the new Turkish series will premiere at MIPCOM 2025 with a first-look screening for international buyers and partners.
In a joint statement, Kerim Emrah Turna and Robin Philip said: “Our vision for Globalsphere Studios is to bring compelling Turkish stories to the screen that deeply resonate with global audiences while delivering meaningful value and strong ROI to our partners. After Alaca’s international success, 'Bitter Justice' marks the next step in building a standout slate of originals with broad market appeal and long-term brand equity.”
REVENGE, AND REDEMPTION
A bold tale of power, revenge, and redemption, "Bitter Justice" begins with a tragic construction accident that leaves a powerful businessman Noyan Demir’s wife gravely injured, and their unborn child lost. Blaming the safety officer Memduh, Noyan demands that Memduh’s daughter, Dünya, pays the price. Forced into servitude in Noyan’s home, Dünya quietly fights for justice, uncovering her inner strength, and an unexpected ally. The series explores the cost of corruption and the quiet rise of a young woman reclaiming her life.
With a story by Hakan Alak, "Bitter Justice" also sees Nöbetçi Yapım reprise their production role in their second collaboration with Globalsphere Studios, while Hakan Alak and Tuğba Alkın return to direct and Eliz Arkayın-Ungan takes on showrunner duties.
