Globoplay's first co-production with RTP and SPi, "Codex 632" is scheduled to premiere on October 2nd in Portugal, on RTP1 and RTP Play, and on 19th October on Globoplay in Brazil. “It is nothing but gratifying to see how this wonderful project turned out on screen. Working with RTP and SPi was incredibly easy," Pablo Ghiglione, Head of International Coproductions at Globo said. "We have worked with outstanding professionals. We are very happy with the outcome of this coproduction, and I hope our audience can dive into the story with us."

Adapted by author Pedro Lopes, the series has realization and artistic direction by Sérgio Graciano and Marco Medeiros, production direction by Sérgio Batista and photography direction by Miguel Manso. "Codex 632" is a Globoplay, RTP, and SPi co-production that premieres on 2nd October in Portugal and 19th October in Brazil. "Brazil and Portugal have a long audiovisual tradition and it makes sense for us to combine our strengths and talents to tell stories that have the potential to appeal to both audiences," Teresa Penna, head of Globoplay and digital audiovisual products, said. "Brazil is an important market for streaming and Globo, as the largest producer of Brazilian content, is a strategic partner for international players."

The investigative series will feature Brazilian and Portuguese actors, such as Deborah Secco, Alexandre Borges, and Paulo Pires, and features scenes shot in Rio de Janeiro and Lisbon. On the evening of the 20th, the Portuguese capital hosted a launch event attended by actors Betty Faria, Paulo Pires, Leonor Belo, Ana Sofia Martins, Marcello Urgeghe, Bia Wong, among others.

Inspired by the best-seller of the same name by Portuguese journalist José Rodrigues dos Santos, "Codex 632" follows the adventure full of enigmas and myths of Tomás de Noronha), a university professor who becomes involved in an investigation initiated by his mentor, Martinho Toscano, which could change our collective memory and our perception of World History. Husband of Luisa Toscano (Betty Faria), Martinho was researching the "discovery of Brazil" when he died in Rio de Janeiro under obscure circumstances. The historian's death is handled secretly by the police and the closer Tomás gets to the truth, the more danger he will be in. An expert in cryptology, Tomás is hired by Nelson Moliarti (Alexandre Borges) to decode his mentor's search.

In addition to "Codex 632," Globoplay in Brazil already has "Theodosia" in its catalog, the first international live-action co-produced with Cottonwood Media, which had as partners the German ZDF, ZDF Enterprise and HBOMax, and will soon make available "Rio Connection," a partnership between Globo, Floresta, and Sony with scenes recorded in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Montevideo.

"As a Globo veteran, after so many years, so many telenovelas, series, and musicals, it is very exciting to follow all this evolution and see Globoplay carry out the first co-production with RTP and SPi, here in Portugal. It is luxurious and wonderful," Betty Faria said. "From the first day I read the script, I loved my character. It was an unforgettable experience that I really enjoyed and a great pleasure to take part in this series."
