Canadian independent producer Go Button Media announced that it is in production on a second 6 x 60’ season of its popular series, "The Animal Within." This series represents the second greenlight from its latest 36-hour slate deal with partners Autentic, and Super Channel, Go Button’s longstanding Canadian broadcast partner. In total, the collaboration is set to deliver six series, each of six hours’ duration, over the next three years. "Secrets of Ancient Structures" was confirmed as the first series when the slate deal was announced last autumn.

"The Animal Within" combines science and natural history with stunning visuals to investigate the inner workings of some of the world’s most majestic beasts, examining the physiological features that allow them to adapt, endure, target, collaborate, defend, and even move as if invisible. From the transparent fur of the lonely polar bear inspiring the next generation of warm-weather gear to the poison dart frog—one of the most poisonous creatures on earth—the hidden blueprints of the animal kingdom provide a glimpse of nature’s engineering at its finest and show how each precise machine is meticulously conceived to survive and flourish in the wild.

The first 6 x 60’ series of "The Animal Within" proved a significant success, with Autentic licensing it to more than 20 territories, to international broadcasters that included National Geographic and NHK in Japan. Both "The Animal Within" and "Secrets of Ancient Structures"—which takes viewers around the globe and across time to examine some of the most remarkable achievements by ancient civilizations—form part of Autentic Distributions’ 2025 slate, to be announced at its upcoming London Screenings event. "Secrets of Ancient Structures" delivers in the summer of 2025, with "The Animal Within" following toward the end of the year.

Daniel Oron, co-founder and executive producer at Go Button Media, celebrated the agreement:This new greenlight means a great deal to Go Button as the original season of ‘The Animal Within’ was our first project with Autentic and Super Channel together, and it set us on the path to this enduring and positive partnership;" commented.

Meanwhile, Mirjam Strasser, head of sales & acquisitions at Autentic, expressed a desire to achieve long-term agreements “Our success in bringing great content to the international market really comes down to working with strong partners. Go Button Media has consistently proven itself as a key producer of factual series with global appeal. We’re excited to keep working together through our long-term output deal, which guarantees a steady flow of fresh content in the years ahead. This partnership is a perfect fit—with our expertise as both a producer and distributor, Autentic brings valuable editorial expertise and a deep understanding of what the market wants and what works internationally. Together with Go Button’s creative storytelling, we can’t wait to see where this collaboration takes us and to share these projects with audiences worldwide," stated.

Finally, Kim Ball, chief content officer at Super Channel, considered the deal strategic: “Our partnership with Go Button Media is one of the cornerstones of our successful launch of Super Channel Quest. Working with high-quality producers of factual content like Go Button provides us with a pipeline of affordable and engaging unscripted content that appeals not only to audiences here in Canada but also around the globe." noted.
