GRB Studios' Executive Vice President of International Sales, and Operations, Hud Woodle has secured several deals from its partnership with The Nacelle Company (Nacelle). “GRB is thrilled to be starting 2023 off with fantastic new programming and strong sales, from our long-term partner, The Nacelle Company," Woodle said. "Around the world from APAC and Canada to Europe back to the US, GRB continues to offer its global partners a unique blend of programming, something for every viewer.”
Under the terms of the recent agreement, GRB will distribute The Nacelle Company’s recently announced, first scripted animated series, "Robo Force," based on the 1980’s toy line with same name; and has already secured multiples sales for their unscripted doc series Icons "Unearthed." The deal marks the first time Nacelle has taken its existing model for stand-up comedy specials and documentaries and duplicated it for scripted television. Once the six" Robo Force" episodes are finished, Nacelle will pitch the series to the major streamers and broadcast networks worldwide, with the intent of securing regional-based license deals.
Nacelle is credited with the development of "The Toys That Made Us," "Behind the Attraction," "Down to Earth With Zac Efron," "2019’s Mad About You reboot," "Icons Unearthed" and "The Movies That Made Us," and is self-financing "Robo Force" its first animated television series based on the 1980s property that they acquired in 2021. The pilot episode will be directed by Brian Volk-Weiss, andGavin Hignight and Tom Stern will write and produce as showrunners. The first season is set to have six, twenty-two-minute episodes.
GRB also confirmed plans to distribute other Nacelle-produced, unscripted programming, including "Down to Earth" with Zac Efron, Craig Ferguson's "Hobo Fabulous," "The Center Seat: 55 Years of Star Trek" and several of the Icons "Unearthed" docu-series. Icons "Unearthed" series cover a multitude of legendary television shows and movies that have become global entertainment brands, providing previously unknown and surprising details of the brands, and including exclusive interviews with writers, producers, directors, actors, and network executives.
Foxtel Australia/New Zealand, Seven. One Germany (7Maxx) and RTL Netherlands all licensed Icons "Unearthed Star Wars," and "Icons Unearthed: The Simpsons," and "Icons "Unearthed: Fast & Furious."
