HiddenLight Productions, a new production company founded by Hillary Rodham Clinton, Sam Branson and Chelsea Clinton, has launched. The announcement correlates with a documentary series order at Apple TV+. “There has never been a more urgent time to ask and answer the big questions that will shape our future in the years to come,” Sam Branson, Founder, HiddenLight Productions, said. “Now more than ever, we need stories that foster hope and bridge divide to create a more united and solution-focused world.”
The company will specialize in global studio creating premium documentary, unscripted, and scripted entertainment for TV, film, and digital that will reach global audiences in an innovative way. It will be led by Executive Chair, Roma Khanna, and CEO, Johnny Webb, with offices based in London, New York and LA. Khanna was previously CEO of Revolt Media and President of MGM Television Group and Digital, whilst Webb was CEO of Sundog Pictures and formerly Managing Director of the Living TV Group. “For too long, attention has been paid only to the loudest voices in the room,” Hillary Rodham Clinton, Founder, HiddenLight Productions, said. “There have been generations of change-makers who have shaped and will continue to shape our world, often quietly, flying under the radar. HiddenLight Productions’ first project is Gutsy Women, straight-to-series order for Apple TV+, hosted by Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton, inspired by their best-selling book, The Book of Gutsy Women: Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience. In Gutsy Women, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton will spotlight a richly diverse cast of trailblazing women, setting out on a quest to answer the question: ‘what exactly does it take to be a Gutsy Woman?’ Gutsy Women is Executive Produced by Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, Johnny Webb, and Roma Khanna. “The stories we tell and the experiences we share shape the way we see each other and help us understand our own unique place in the world,” Chelsea Clinton, Founder, HiddenLight Productions, said. “We are thrilled to launch HiddenLight to bring powerful stories of perseverance and persistence to the world. In addition to Gutsy Women, HiddenLight Productions has several projects in advanced development, which will be announced in the coming months. Premium documentary production company Sundog Pictures, led by Johnny Webb and Claire Featherstone, will be incorporated into the new venture along with the entire Sundog team. Claire Featherstone will become COO of HiddenLight Productions. The company is represented by WME.
