McMillan’s appointment follows on the heels of the launch in late July of Indielab West Yorks, a program delivered in partnership with Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership to support the screen production industry and boost growth across West Yorkshire. One section will be aimed at TV, Film and animation production and the other at gaming. “The level of innovation and commitment to excellence in the Indielab team stands out," she continued. "It’s the reason I wanted to join them. I look forward to playing my part in growing the next generation of sector-leading accelerator programmes and events to support our creative talent in the UK.”

With over two decades of film, television, animation and games related experience, her expertise spans training and skills development as well as events. As Indielab Accelerator’s programme producer, McMillan’s responsibilities will include developing new accelerators, events and training to support across the creative sector.

McMillan joins the accelerator programme from BAFTA Scotland, where she has served as learning and new talent events producer since 2013. There, her responsibilities included developing a dynamic learning strategy for BAFTA Scotland, working with world-class talent to deliver programmes capable of connecting with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. "We have a world-class team all focused and deeply committed to making that happen and we’re delighted to add Beverly to this team,"  Powell said."Working out of Glasgow — one of the UK’s most exciting creative cities — she will help build and deliver a range of new programmes to support the UK’s incredible indie talent across UK screen industries."
