Keshet International has completed a further raft of sales for the three-part premium history docuseries it co-developed with SandStone Global, ahead of its official world premiere on 5 in the UK at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, 2 August 2025. Having already secured five pre-sales for "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World" — initially with 5 in the UK, followed by SBS in Australia, Histoire TV in France, Canal+ Polska S.A. in Poland, and Prima Group in the Czech Republic — the global content producer-distributor has now closed additional deals with Movistar Plus+ in Spain and Andorra; COSMOTE TV – COSMOTE TELEKOM in Greece; public broadcaster ERR in Estonia; Ananey, a Paramount Company, in Israel; and across 14 territories in the CIS region, including Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Ukraine.

Produced by the award-winning British production company SandStone Global, as part of their ongoing co-development partnership with KI, "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World" was filmed across three continents at locations in Turkey, Greece, and Egypt. Produced by Shula Subramaniam, the 3x60’ docuseries is directed by David Lee, with SandStone Global’s Professor Bettany Hughes, Dixi Stewart, and Ruth Sessions executive producing, alongside Nick Catliff and KI’s Kelly Wright.

KI is making the at-home augmented reality (AR) experience — developed in partnership with SandStone Global Productions and Snapchat’s AR Studio Paris — available to all international buyers of this beautifully produced and ambitiously shot three-part docuseries, potentially bringing these ancient wonders to life in millions of homes worldwide.

Kelly Wright, KI’s MD of Distribution, expressed happiness about the great international reception: ‘We are thrilled to be boarding more buyers to this fantastic series ahead of its world premiere on 5 in the UK, while also making the innovative "at-home" augmented reality technology available to clients who want it. Incorporating this interactive tech into "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World" really is a point of difference, and the on-screen QR codes will allow viewers around the world to explore, learn, and connect with these famous historic sites from the comfort of their own homes," commented.

In "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World", acclaimed historian and broadcaster Professor Bettany Hughes OBE follows in the footsteps of ancient warriors, pilgrims, emperors, and tourists on her epic journey across Greece, Egypt, and Turkey in search of the Seven Wonders. To show why these incredible creations still resonate with us today, the docuseries uses state-of-the-art digital reconstructions that allow Bettany to interact with CGI replicas of these ancient engineering feats in the very places where the wonders once stood.

In a unique collaboration with Snapchat’s AR Studio Paris, viewers will be able to use their phones to scan on-screen QR codes that bring to life each of these digital reconstructions of the Seven Wonders through a virtual, immersive experience in their own homes. People will be able to ‘explore’ world-famous ancient sites across the Mediterranean and Middle East — including the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, and the Statue of Zeus at Olympia — as the awe-inspiring monuments spring to life from TV screens into living rooms.

"Seven Wonders of the Ancient World" presenter Professor Bettany Hughes says: ‘The past is a living place, a place that’s relevant to all of us. Using this meticulously researched augmented reality allows viewers at home to explore right inside these ancient wonders. It’s an immersive experience that we hope will bring the past to life for millions!’
