Erin Westerman has been appointed President of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, where she will lead all facets of the studio’s theatrical film development and production. Her responsibilities will now also include oversight of physical production, and she will report directly to Adam Fogelson, Chair of the Motion Picture Group.

The appointment comes as current group president Nathan Kahane prepares to exit the role at the end of the year to enter a producing agreement with Lionsgate. Westerman, who previously served as President of Motion Picture Production, has been instrumental in steering some of the studio’s most high-profile projects and shaping its overall creative strategy. Her promotion reflects both continuity and confidence in her leadership as Lionsgate enters a new phase.

In her expanded role, Westerman is overseeing a number of major titles across various stages of production. Among them is Francis Lawrence’s “The Long Walk,” based on the novel by Stephen King and set for release on September 12. She is also guiding the third installment of the “Now You See Me” franchise, titled “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t,” directed by Ruben Fleischer and slated for November 14. Paul Feig’s thriller “The Housemaid,” starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, will follow with a Christmas Day release.

Also under her supervision is “Michael,” the highly anticipated Michael Jackson biopic produced by Graham King and directed by Antoine Fuqua, as well as Marc Webb’s “Day Drinker,” starring Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz. Additionally, she is producing “I Can Only Imagine 2,” a sequel from Kingdom Story Company, continuing Lionsgate’s strategic investment in faith-based content, with a planned release on February 20, 2026.

Adam Fogelson praised Westerman’s leadership and industry impact, stating:“Erin’s profound impact on our studio cannot be overstated. She has earned the respect of her peers and talent through hard work, incredible story sense, and great choices, whether related to cast or the direction of some of our most important IP. However, it is her fierce intelligence, passion for theatrical moviegoing, and ease of manner that have made Lionsgate an attractive home for filmmakers who continue to do their most creative work here. She is a true leader, and I’m looking forward to shaping our slate together," commented.
