"Lydia and the Mist Rider"
Distribution company Maison 4:3 unveils the theatrical release date for the animated feature film "Lydia and the Mist Rider," produced by 10th Ave. This fantasy film will be appearing on Canadian screens as of February 20, 2026, just in time for spring break.
Produced from Émilie Rosas’s first feature-length screenplay, "Lydia and the Mist Rider" is a 3D-animated feature in the fantasy genre. It has three directors: Émilie Rosas and Philippe Arseneau Bussières, for both of whom this is the first full-length directing credit, as well as experienced feature director Nancy Florence Savard.
“10th Ave’s animated features have always been released theatrically during spring break, and the tradition continues with our sixth 100% Canadian production. From 'The Legend of Sarila', which came out in 2013, to 'Katak the Brave Beluga', launched in 2023, spring break has been the moment of choice to offer our animated works to families in our home market,” notes 10th Ave’s producer and director, Nancy Florence Savard.
"The whole Maison 4:3 team is thrilled to be starting promotion on 10th Ave's next animated feature, 'Lydia and the Mist Rider'. This continues the wonderful collaboration with Nancy Florence Savard and her talented creative teams. We share their values, and we're delighted to be offering young audiences a high-quality film that is entertaining and inspiring," says Chantale's Page, head of the distribution company Maison 4:3.
“There’s so much emotion in seeing this mad dream come true! This film, born from a spark nearly 10 years ago, has come to life thanks to the talent and passion of all our teams. I’m infinitely proud and deeply grateful,” exclaims screenwriter and director Émilie Rosas. “Thanks to a fabulous crew, we’ve been able to steer the ship to its destination,” adds director and art director Philippe Arseneau Bussières.
“'Lydia and the Mist Rider' is the most audacious film produced to date by 10th Ave’s teams. And it was made with joy. Émilie and Philippe are hugely talented and committed, and they’re also very agreeable companions, which is important when you’re working together for over a hundred intense weeks,” concludes 10th Ave’s producer and director, Nancy Florence Savard.
The production of this sixth animated feature film by 10th Ave was made possible thanks to the support of Telefilm Canada, SODEC, The Canada Media Fund, the City of Québec, the Shaw Rocket Fund, Bell Media/Crave, the Radio-Canada Corporation, the Harold Greenberg Fund and Investment Québec, as well as the Quebec and Canadian tax credit programs. The film is distributed by Maison 4:3 in Canada and Attraction Distribution, in conjunction with 10th Ave Studio, are the international sales agents.
