MediaHub seals distribution agreement with Corich Group

The deal will bring Kazakh blockbusters to global audiences.

MediaHub has sealed a strategic distribution agreement with Corich Group. "After many years in the making we’re very happy to have officially initiated our partnership," Kerim Emrah Turna, Managing Director of MediaHub said. "Kazakh cinema boasts world-class production quality and will continue to improve thanks to exceptional and visionary talent like Kuralay Anarbekova."

The partnership serves as a significant milestone in expanding the reach of Kazakh cinema and introducing its stories to audiences worldwide. "We are particularly excited about the cultural similarities we find between Turkish stories and humor and the rich narratives of Kazakh films," Turna said. "Together, MediaHub and Corich Group aim to unlock the immense potential of Kazakh cinema and introduce it to audiences worldwide."

Founded by actress, producer, and businesswoman Kuralay Anarbekova, Corich Group has garnered acclaim for its contributions to the Kazakh film industry. Kuralay Anarbekova is known for her performances in various projects in the 2000s and her breakout role in the film "My Sinful Angel," featuring renowned actor Gerard Depardieu and subsequent production ventures, has solidified her position as a driving force in the industry. With a dedicated fan base, Anarbekova boasts a staggering one million followers on social media.

Overseen by Kuralay Anarbekova's, Corich Group is credited with various Kazakh blockbusters. The company has produced titles such as "Brother or Marriage," released in 2017, which set a new box-office record in Kazakhstan, grossing 455 million tenge. The launch was followed by the highly anticipated sequel, "Brother or Marriage 2," released in 2019, which further cemented Kuralay Anarbekova's status as a leading figure in Kazakhstan cinema. Both films are now under representation by MediaHub. One of Corich Group's latest releases, also under MediaHub’s representation,  "Vaccine from Corruption," released in 2021, tackles the pressing issue of societal corruption. This social comedy explores an experiment involving two officials, the incorruptible Ruslan and the bribe-taker Ardak, who swap roles after receiving a corruption vaccine.
