Mike Cosentino, former President of Content and Programming at Bell Media, has launched a new consultation company called CosMediaInc, and struck a distribution deal that will see it working with Fremantle on new programming from Canada.

In detail, CosMediaInc will look to source, support and deliver Canadian productions to global audiences. Under the deal, Cosentino will work with Fremantle to maximize the production and distribution giant’s mandate to partner with scripted and non-scripted Canadian producers with international ambitions.

Cosentino left Bell Media in January as part of what it called a “streamlining” as it focuses on its on-demand service Crave TV amid rising competition from streamers. During his more-than-two-decade career at Bell Media, Cosentino worked on titles including “Letterkenny” (Hulu), “Transplant” (NBC/Sky/Globoplay), “Cardinal” (BBC/Hulu), and “Holmes Family Effect” (Fox/Tubi).

“Fremantle is a global expert and leader in distribution and some of the world’s most popular programming comes from our own backyard. I welcome the opportunity to work with Michela and the Fremantle team to support their vision and investment in local producers to put great Canadian programming on the global stage,”  Cosentino commented.

Michela DiMondo, Executive VP of Distribution and Sales at Fremantle, added: “Canada is home to some of the world’s foremost producers. With his exceptional production relationships, Cosentino is well-positioned to support our vision to partner with Canadian producers to deliver their amazing content to an international audience. Excited to be working together”.
