Acclaimed producers Anni Faurbye Fernandez, Moa Westeson and Cindy Hanson are setting up a new Nordic drama production company, Nevis Productions, with investment support from London-based independent producer Nevision.

With offices in Stockholm and Copenhagen, the new venture will create high-end scripted content that appeals to both the local Scandinavian markets and to a wider, global audience.

The three principals and co-founders at Nevis Productions each have a renowned track record in drama production.

During her time as producer and CEO at Yellow Bird, Good Company Films and producer at Cinenord, Anni’s credits include Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy, David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Wallander (Swedish and British version starring Kenneth Branagh), Occupied, Wisting and Atlantic Crossing.

Moa has vast experience as a feature film producer and co-producer at Breidablick and SF Studios before moving into TV drama while working at Cinenord. Her credits include Vegas, the trilogy Jerry Maya’s Detective Agency, Atlantic Crossing and Veum.

As a development producer and series creator at Cinenord, Cindy spearheaded the company’s slate of features and TV series including Wisting and Atlantic Crossing. Cindy has a long TV series and features development track record from both Scandinavia and the UK, and during her years inhouse at BBC Drama she worked on award-winning shows including Waking The Dead and Occupation. They will be joined by junior producer Matilde Norgaard.

Nevis Productions’ development slate includes local-language dramas for Sweden and Denmark alongside English-language projects which they will look to co-produce with international partners. The company has a broad slate of projects in development including: dramedy Neighbourhood Watch for a Scandinavian broadcaster and a coming-of-age mystery crime series with young up and coming director Kasper Møller-Jensen.

Nevis is also collaborating with Sofia Helin (The Bridge) and producer Jacob Raben on a high-end geo-political medical thriller Wake written by UK writer Jamie Brittain (Skins).

Anni Fernandez Co-Founder at Nevis Productions says: “There is a strong demand for both local-language drama as well as English-language series which have their roots in Scandinavia. With our strong and diverse network of connections in both our home territories and internationally we feel we are uniquely positioned to provide exceptional, compelling content for a wide range of platforms and audiences. We have a real synergy with Nevision and we’re confident there will be many opportunities for us to work together and collaborate in the future.”

James Cabourne, Executive Chairman at Nevision adds: “Anni, Moa and Cindy have world-class reputations as producers of high-end scripted content, which makes backing their new venture an unmissable opportunity. The Nordic market is thriving both in terms of content creation and broadcast opportunities, so we are understandably excited by the potential of this drama powerhouse.”
