Night Train Digital has named Neil Francis as its new Managing Director, strengthening the division’s leadership as it enters its next phase of growth.

The exec brings more than 20 years of experience in the online video and broadcast industry, with senior roles spanning both established media groups and start-ups. Most notably, during more than six years at YouTube, he led teams across EMEA and APAC, working closely with content partners to build long-term digital strategies and maximize the potential of their rights on the platform. His CV also includes operational and commercial team leadership roles at Sky, "Blinkbox" and "Lickd."

His expertise in digital rights, monetization and platform growth will be central as Night Train Media continues to expand Night Train Digital, which was launched in 2024 to manage scripted distributor Eccho Right’s YouTube and social media channels, as well as offer producers end-to-end digital services. Night Train Digital now manages more than 50 YouTube channels, with over 20 million subscribers, exploiting both titles from Eccho Rights’ scripted catalogue, as well as curated feature film, factual and entertainment channels.

Neil Francis celebrated the new step in his career: “I’m excited to be joining Night Train Digital to lead the business into its next stage of growth. With strong foundations already in place, there is a huge opportunity to build on our channels and rights across the group, bridging the gap between traditional TV and long-form content on digital platforms. I look forward to working with the team to deliver an industry-leading operation, develop strong partnerships with platforms, and explore digital-first, creator-led content as a key driver of Night Train Media’s future success," commented.

Meanwhile, Herbert Kloiber, CEO Night Train Media Group praised the exec: “Digital rights and platform strategy are becoming central to how audiences consume content worldwide, and Night Train Digital is a key part of our growth story. Neil’s proven leadership and deep understanding of YouTube and the wider digital ecosystem make him the ideal person to guide us through this exciting next phase. We’re delighted to welcome him to the team and look forward to building a truly world-class digital operation together," noted.
