CBC and Counterfeit Pictures announced that two-time Olympic medalist, figure skater Elvis Stojko, will guest star on the new original comedy series "One More Time" (13x30), from stand-up comedian D.J. Demers ("The Tonight Show") and showrunner Jessie Gabe ("Workin' Moms"). Stojko will play himself in the seventh episode of the series, entitled “Lazer Blade” airing February 20th on CBC and the free CBC Gem streaming service.

Stojko is one of Canada’s most decorated male figure skaters, having won back-to-back Olympic silver medals at Lillehammer 1994 and Nagano 1998 to go with his three world titles (1994, 1995, 1997) and seven national titles (1994, 1996-2000, 2002). Stojko was inducted to Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 2011.

“Elvis Stojko is a Canadian icon and a huge part of my childhood (which is crazy because he doesn't even look that much older than me. The man is aging like a fine wine,)” comments Demers. “Having him do a guest role on the show was such a treat. The cast and writers were so excited when he agreed to join. His episode is definitely one of my favourites of the season.”

A CBC original comedy series, "One More Time" is a workplace comedy about DJ (played by Demers), the hard-of-hearing manager of a second-hand sporting goods store, and the team of "enthusiastic" employees he leads. DJ’s optimistic, community-oriented outlook on life is challenged at every turn, as he and his team struggle to keep the small independent shop alive.

Demers is joined on screen by celebrated actress and comedian Geri Hall ("Astrid and Lilly Save the World") as assistant store manager Cynthia; Daniel Beirne ("Ginny & Georgia") as undermotivated ‘lifer’ Wayne; Elise Bauman ("Workin’ Moms") as employee-cum-Olympian Jen; newcomer Seran Sathiyaseelan as eager, young part-timer Keeran; and Dayton Sinkia ("Letterkenny") as the newest OMT sales associate, Chris. Rounding out the cast in recurring roles are Nadine Bhabha ("Letterkenny"), Chris Robinson ("The Amazing Gayl Pile"), Maddy Foley ("The Boys") and Marito Lopez ("Gary and His Demons").
