Passion Distribution closes a raft of sales in Asia Pacific

Ahead of the Asia TV Forum and Market, Passion Distribution announced a raft of deals for its documentary and factual entertainment programming in Asia Pacific, with over a 100 hours of content licensed.

Ahead of the Asia TV Forum and Market (ATF), Passion Distribution announced a raft of deals for its documentary and factual entertainment programming in Asia Pacific, with over a 100 hours of content licensed.

In detail, BBC Asia (pan-regional) has acquired documentary series, “Engineering Reborn” (8x 60’). The spectacular series from Pioneer Productions, explores the mind-blowing challenges behind the transformation of engineering marvels of the past, into icons of the future.

Meanwhile, Yoon N Company (Korea) has acquired “Art That Made Us” (8x60’), the landmark documentary series produced by ClearStory and Menace Productions, which through 1500 years and eight dramatic turning points, presents an alternative history of the British Isles, told through art.

NHK (Japan) has picked up “Stacey Dooley: Inside The Convent” (1x60’), the documentary in which Stacey Dooley experiences what it is like to live as a nun, spending ten days living alongside the Order of the Holy Paraclete Anglican religious community. The documentary was produced by Firecracker and Little Dooley.

Furthermore, Legend Media (China) has licensed a package of factual entertainment and documentary series: “Surviving The Stone Age” (3x60’) from Renegade Pictures and Motion Content Group; “Cold War: The Tech Race” (4x60’) from Wild Bear Entertainment; and the second season of “Black Files: Declassified” (8x60’) from Espiritus Productions and Arcadia Entertainment.

Further sales include Mi Media (Malaysia) licensing the first two seasons of “Help! My House Is Haunted” (24x60’) and “Celebrity Help! My House Is Haunted” (6x60’), both produced by Back2Back Productions. Pet TV (Pan) has acquired the seventh season of “Dog Rescuers” (16x60’), produced by Middlechild Productions and Motion Content Group, and “Animal 24:7” (30x60’) from Ture North Productions. Lastly, MediaCorp (Singapore) has picked up the seasons five and six of The Weather Channel’s “Weather Gone Viral” (18x60’).

Passion Distribution will be attending Asia TV Forum and Market and will bring a full line up of premium documentary and factual titles including “Dinosaur With Stephen Fry” (4x60’), produced by Mentorn Media; and “Football Dreams: The Academy” (6x60’) and “Freddie Flintoff’s Field Of Dreams” (3x60’), both produced by South Shore.
