Passion Distribution has secured a raft of global sales for History and Documentary programming including “Nuremburg: The Nazis On Trial,” “The Great Plague,” and “1000 Years Of History.”
Produced by Middlechild Productions for Channel 5, “Nuremburg: The Nazis On Trial,” has been acquired by SBS in Australia, Histoire in France, DR in Denmark, NRK in Norway, Channel 8 in Israel, and Viasat in CEE and Scandi. The documentary will showcase some of the world’s most astonishing war trials. “The Great Plague,” produced by Voltage TV and Motion Content Group for Channel 5, was the 4th most-watched show on Channel 5 in 2020. The documentary showcasing the deadly epidemic has been licensed to BBC Select in North America, SBS in Australia, YLE in Finland, NRK in Norway, Axess TV in Sweden, DR in Denmark, and Viasat in CEE and Scandi. Medic Dr. Xand van Tulleken, archaeologist Raksha Dave and journalist John Sergeant are featured in the film.
“1000 Years Of History.” was acquired by Discovery Networks Asia Pacific, SBS Australia, Aceonemedia in South Korea. The series was commissioned by Channel 5. “Storming The Capital: The Inside Story,” produced by ITN Productions for ITV, will tell the story of the day Trump supporters broke into the Capitol. The film was acquired by Discovery+ (Europe plus India Territory), N-TV in Germany and German Speaking Austria and Switzerland, ORF in Austria, RTS (French-speaking Switzerland), and TVN in Poland.
“Future Warfare,” produced by Wildbear Entertainment, has been acquired by National Geographic Channel in Poland, Ananey Channels in Israel, AMC Networks Central Europe in Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia. Transmet in China and Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific in Japan and Taiwan. The series uses expert interviews, file footage, and cutting-edge CGI with original filming to look at the game changers in military capabilities that are resetting the character of current and future warfare and which will thrust our world into a new era.
In addition to the other series, Wildbear Entertainment six-part series “Beyond Our Earth” was acquired by UR in Sweden, AMC Networks Central Europe in Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Kan in Israel, BBC Studios in Poland, Discovery Networks Asia Pacific in Japan and Phoenix Television in SE Asia has licensed the series.
