Range Studios appoints Simon Andreade as co-president of unscripted

It operates as the production division within Range Media Partners. The other co-director is Mark Herwick, who initiated the establishment of Range Studios in 2021.

Award-winning television producer Simon Andreae is joining Range Studios to co-run the non-scripted television studio division alongside Mark Herwick, who launched the studio in 2021. The company It's part of Range Media Partners.

During a three-year spell at the UK production group, Andreae oversaw the companies that produced shows such as "Britain’s Got Talent", "Too Hot to Handle" and "The Apprentice". He joined Fremantle UK after it took full control of "Naked", the prodco he set up in 2015.

He was also previously the executive VP of alternative at Fox Broadcasting US and senior VP of development and production at the Discovery Channel. During his time at Discovery, he created the survival format "Naked" and "Afraid" and commissioned specials including "The Plane Crash" and "Mummifying Alan". His career started in the UK as a founding partner at Optomen Television, which produced shows including "Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares" and "Gore Vidal’s American Presidency".

Together as co-presidents, Andreae and Herwick will bolster the non-scripted studio’s full production and post-production capabilities globally. Andrade referred to the new challenge: “When Mark first approached me about the role, it was clear that both he and the wider team at Range had managed to combine the passion and energy of a start up with the heft and breadth of a much more mature organization,” Andreae said. “With a stellar client list to help inspire us and an already fascinating slate on which to build, I am looking forward to joining Mark at such an exciting stage in the studio’s evolution and helping expand our overall offering," stated.
