Saloon Media promotes Paul Kilback and Matt Faulknor

Kilback will now serve as Creative Director of Factual Series, and Faulknor will serve as Senior Development Producer.

Saloon Media confirmed the promotions of Paul Kilback to Creative Director of Factual Programming and Matt Faulknor to Senior Development Producer. Kilback and Faulknor’s new roles will be made effective immediately, with Kilback reporting to Managing Director, Michael Kot and Faulknor continuing to report to Nick Crowe, Saloon Media’s Head of Unscripted Development.

As Creative Director, Factual Series, Kilback will take on an expanded leadership role and will oversee the creative and editorial direction on Saloon’s factual series while building strong creative teams to push Saloon’s production to the next level. He has been promoted from his Executive Producer role at Saloon. Faulknor has developed and produced compelling and entertaining factual series for Saloon including Mysteries From Above (Cottage Life Canada), Bryk Cottage (Cottage Life Canada), Life Below Zero: Canada (BBC Studios, Cottage Life Canada), Cold Valley (Investigation Discovery, UKTV) and Hotel Paranormal (TRVL, T+E). Prior to joining Saloon Media, Faulknor held production roles at Proof & Concept, CBC and Pixcom Productions. He has produced content across all genres of television programming including current affairs, sports, science, literature, lifestyle, and news. Previous career highlights include producing on location in Russia for the Sochi Winter Olympics.

Kilback is a multi-award-winning documentary series producer, director and editor who is credited with continuing Saloon Media’s biggest series including "Mysteries from Above" for Cottage Life Canada, "Life Below Zero Canada" for BBC Studios, Cottage Life Canada, Nat Geo US, "Cold Valley" for Investigation Discovery, UKTV and "Tornado Hunters" for CMT Canada. Before joining Saloon, Kilback directed and produced series for Breakthrough Films and Cream Productions. He has won CSA, Gemini and Realscreen Awards and was nominated for an Emmy and Critic’s Choice Award as co-creator, producer and director on the hit series Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan that took Paul to some of the most remote places on the planet.
