"50,000 First Dates: A True Story"
Serial Maven Studios, a next-generation studio and global distribution company, announced today that it has acquired exclusive worldwide distribution rights to "50,000 First Dates: A True Story" (2 x 60’), a high-profile documentary produced by Peacock Alley Entertainment in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios, that sparked a global conversation about modern love, memory, and women’s brain health. The series offers strong and broad appeal across diverse audiences. At its core, the series unfolds as a modern real-life love story that mirrors the premise of the Adam Sandler film "50 First Dates."
"50,000 First Dates: A True Story" is produced by Peacock Alley Entertainment, in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios. Brent Hodge serves as Director and Carrie Mudd as Producer. Serial Maven Studios oversees all licensing and distribution outside commissioning territories.
Directed by Brent Hodge ("Third Longest Date," "Pharma Bro"), "50,000 First Dates: A True Story" follows Toronto entrepreneur Nesh Pillay, who wakes up with sudden memory loss and no recollection of her partner, JJ Jakope, believing him to be a stranger. As her deeply personal story goes viral, the couple navigates the emotional, medical, and public pressures of rebuilding both a life and a relationship, one "first date" at a time. Originally launched as an Amazon Original on Prime Video earlier this year, the series has attracted significant media attention across global entertainment outlets and daytime talk shows such as "The Drew Barrymore Show."
Solange Attwood, CEO and Co-Founder, Serial Maven Studios praised their partners: “We’re proud to partner with Peacock Alley Entertainment, a producer known for elevated, globally recognized storytelling.
