Sky and Entertainment One announced a long-term partnership consisting of hundreds of hours of content set to be released on Sky Cinema. The deal covers both eOne’s existing library and new releases in development. Under the deal, aproximately 200 movies will be accessible to Sky Cinema customer at no additional charge. Sky will have the pay-TV rights for eOne’s first-run feature films, including the animated kids’ title "Two by Two: Overboard!," effective Summer 2021.The deal was brokered by eOne’s Dan Gopal, Executive Vice President, Sales, EMEA and Patrick Roberts, Vice President, International TV Sales, and Sky’s Katie Keenan, Head of Acquisitions, Movies, and Maud Letreguilly, Head of Content Acquisitions.
Several new releases will also be available exclusively to Sky Cinema customers including the upcoming holiday rom-com "Happiest Season," starring Kristen Stewart, Mackenzie Davis, Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, Dan Levy, Victor Garber, and Mary Steenburgen, which bypassed a UK theatrical release due to the pandemic. Existing movie library titles are available now to Sky Cinema and NOW TV Cinema Pass customers in the UK and Ireland. “We’re incredibly excited to partner with eOne and bring their award-winning world-class content to our audiences," Rooyen said. Sky customers already have access to content from Netflix, Disney+ in the UK and Ireland, Warner Media, Showtime, Discovery, Fox, Sony, and many other partners in each of our markets.
