Synchronicity Films has appointed Deanne Cunningham as Head of Development of Glasgow, as well as Executive Producer across select shows in production. “We are thrilled to have Deanne join us in this senior editorial role, as we move our slate forward with a host of compelling projects, including Joseph’s unsettling and completely original allegory of toxic masculinity set on the Gare Loch,” Claire Mundell, Founder and Creative Director at Synchronicity Films, said.

Cunningham will oversee the company’s UK slate and lead the development of several projects on Synchronicity’s slate including award-winning playwright Joseph Wilde’s debut horror series “Clyde Waters,” which Synchronicity Films is in advanced development with a UK broadcaster. “I couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining Claire and the team as Head of Development. Synchronicity has established a reputation for excellence, working with some of the most exciting writers on a slate of incredible projects,” Cunningham said. “I’m looking forward to building on that and getting more brilliant dramas made, for the UK and international audiences."

Before Joining Synchronicity, Cunningham worked various scripted roles producing credits to popular shows over the span of 10 years. She has worked in script development, including scripted development positions at BBC Drama and an earlier stint as Development Producer at Synchronicity, along with several independent films with backing from Screen Scotland and the BFI. She is also a former BBC Production Trainee and resides in Glasgow. “Deanne is a talented, insightful, and tenacious developer with a host of a brilliant writer, commissioner, and talent relationships,” Mundell said.

The dramas she has contributed to include “Endeavour” and “Cold Feet” for ITV. She has also held script editing positions on several award-winning shows including “Humans” for C4/AMC, “Utopia” for C4, and “The Tunnel” for Sky Atlantic/Canal+.

“Clyde Waters” explores the impact of toxic masculinity from a societal to a personal state. The horror series follows three young submariners threatened with losing their minds and their lives in the shadow of the nuclear deterrent they are charged with guarding.
