The Burbank Agency announces the sale of "Edgar", an 8 hours series of Criminal investigation, to Polar+, a Canal+ Group’s theme channel. "Edgar", the Canadian co-production by Manito Média and Zone3, premiered this month and is globally distributed by The Burbank Agency.
Just like in the mythical TV series Columbo, the viewer witnesses the murder and knows the identity of the murderer. What he doesn't know is how Detective Edgar will solve the mystery and gather the evidence that will identify the culprit. Since the viewer knows the outcome of the investigations, his interest is sustained by the manner and originality of Edgar's to solve each murder in each episode and how he will trap the killers.
The series is the right mix between a modern Columbo and the crazy universe of The Big Lebowski, where each character is extravagant and larger than life.
